1. Pho Tai – Probably the most popular Vietnamese dish. Pho broth with rice noodles served with rare steak slices. Once served, I usually squirt a little bit of sriracha hot sauce, Oyster sauce, and a CRAP LOAD of lime. Then ask for a side of fresh onions, drizzle some sriracha sauce over it and you got yourself a BOMB late night meal.
One of the biggest things I remember most about growing up is my struggle with my cultural identity. I grew up in a very traditional Chinese family where I would be woken up by the smell of incense every morning and hear my family downstairs chattering away in Cantonese. This is probably one of the biggest questions people ask me. As the party scene keeps getting bigger and bigger, more people are interested in becoming club promoters, but the trend I see is that a lot don’t follow through because they don’t know where to start.
So to start this off, here are a few points to remember:
- You DO NOT have to love partying/drinking or whatever to be successful. You just need to like talking and have no problem meeting new people
- If you are looking to break out of your shell, then club promoting might be the perfect way for you to do it. It allows you to be constantly exposed to a lot of people and get comfortable in the long run
- Unless you are super popular, or a hot girl, don’t expect to bring too many people into the club the first month of hire. It take time and a lot of effort to build your network of people wanting to come to your parties
Where do I start?
- I would first check out clubs around your area and see what they offer. Different clubs have different types of people/vibes. I would do some research and find a club that best fits you and makes you feel the most comfortable.
- After you find one, familiarize yourself with the place and introduce yourself to the promoters/partners/staff. Let them know you are interested in promoting and go from there Read the rest of this entry »
